Description
This early 1900s screw-back lapel pin, measuring approximately 10 mm (3/8") in diameter, is for the Woodmen of America, a fraternal benefit society founded in 1890. The design of this lapel pin uses white and red enamel on gold-toned metal (perhaps unmarked gold-filled or gold-plated).The large 'button' (see photo) has a threaded 'socket' into which the threaded post of the pin screws.
There is no mark for the metal content, but the manufacturer's hallmark (letter 'K') is on the 'button.'
This pin is in very good condition, with signs of handling. The face of this lapel pin, metal and enamel, remains bright (much more so than is evident in the photos). The 'button' screws easily and securely onto the post.
