Presented is an antique collar button/stud made by Jonas Dorst & Co., Cincinnati jewelers founded c1888.
It is very well made of sterling silver.
At the center is an applied heraldic phoenix design, with fine engraved details, against a cobalt blue enamel shield shape.
The banner shaped outer border is silver with blue lettering reading, CINCINNATI TYPOTHETAE 1891 (a typothetae is an association of master printers).
The back has its original screw post and gilt metal backing.
A fine antique addition to your Cincinnati, organizational pin, or typothetae collection.
