    Late 20th Century Yogi Man, Weeping Buddha - a Pair
    Description:  A pair of hand-carved matching Suar wood figures of a man in a loin cloth sitting cross-legged and holding his head in his hands.  This design is know as the 'weeping Buddha'.
    Place:  Bali, Indonesia
    Dimensions:  18.5 height x 18.5 length x 18.5 depth inches each
    Condition:  Excellent with organic defects, variations and visible cracks in wood; characteristics are common and enhance the artistic appeal of the sculptures.
    Note:  According to the legends weeping Buddha cries because our world is a sad place and someone must always weep for our sorrows. Such figures are said to be auspicious, by touching them you can hand over your sorrows to the weeping Buddha, thus making life a little better.  Also known as 'shy man' or 'shy yogi'.
