Wonderful Shakyamuni Buddha statue with a very filigree cloak from Nepal
A whole particularly fine handwork!
The statue is a bit older, I estimate it to be approx. 30-40 years. I bought it from a Tibetan in Pokhara, Nepal.
The very heavy statue is made of solid bronze. Buddha's cloak is very cleanly worked out with particularly fine tendrils of lotus blossoms. You can see this in the photos, amazing work.
Shown is Shakyamuni Buddha, in the gesture of touching the earth. In the other hand he holds the sacrificial bowl, which distinguishes him as the head of the order. He has a particularly meditative and peaceful aura!
The Buddha statue was not artificially weighed down, which can be seen from the underside, which can be opened. The statues are often thin-walled and are filled with concrete on the inside to appear heavy. This is not the case with this statue. This is excellently processed and extremely thick-walled. Because it only has a metal panel on the bottom, the statue can also be traditionally filled with belongings.
Simply beautiful to put on the house altar or shrine...
