Vintage Buddha Stone Carved Meditation Statue
This skillfully carved standing Buddha statue is somewhat unusual and so rare, as most either portray Buddha in the lotus sitting position, or lying down.
The Buddha depicted in this sculpture is holding in its hands a meditation symbol of what appears to be a depiction of the Copper Colored Mountain, which is a physical representation / manifestation of the “Pure Lands” in this realm.
His head is surrounded by a shield with intricate bead-like detail, and the stone in this area is a blend of green and brown hues. The standing Buddha rests on a carved hard stone pedestal.
Age: Circa 20C
Condition: Some scattered wear and chipping to the edges (top of statue and fingers). The pedestal has some fissures, which may be of natural origin. See photos for complete description and ask any questions you may have before purchasing.
